This is not work that presents options only a record of the dogs, their truth and the line that defines them both. Gameness is defined at the line, men have learned to hold it, these dogs were born to cross it. From the old bull dog and terrier stock they became what we know today, tireless workers, close and cherished members of our families, steady tempered and unwaivering under pressure. This is not glorification it is admiration, some things are not placed in our hands to be altered, softened or justified. Having crossed the ocean they were carried forward through generations by men who understood them and here they stand unchanged in their essence. This work exists to preserve them, honestly and without excuses.
